You’ll need to select the Discount icon, which appears at the bottom left.
Now you can select the type of discount you want to apply:
On the entire order
On individual products
From this window, you can also select the discounts created in your admin account under Marketing — go to the Campaign section, and use the dropdown arrow to choose the type of discount you want.
For product-level discounts, you can select which of the items on the bill will receive the discount:
select the product
select the desired discount
then don’t forget to press the Apply button
You can customize your discount percentages from POS Menu → Settings → in the Order and receipt configuration section, click on Discount values.
When you select “Other percentage” and manually enter the percentage, on an iPad with a Bluetooth barcode scanner connected, the keyboard may not open when you tap the field. This is an iOS setting: while a Bluetooth keyboard is connected — and the scanner is recognized as a keyboard — iOS no longer displays the on-screen keyboard. What the discount applies to: products on the receipt, not the SGR deposit
The discount — whether “On order”, “On products”, or one selected from the Campaign section — is calculated and distributed only across the products on the receipt.
The following are never included in the calculation and do not receive a discount:
the SGR deposit, automatically added to the receipt as a separate line
the tip
products marked “cannot be discounted quickly” in Catalog -> Products, when editing the product
promotion lines and bonus products
The SGR deposit remains on the receipt at its full value, regardless of which type of discount you choose. You do not need to select the “On products” discount to prevent the deposit from being discounted — neither of the two discount types affects it.
The amount displayed on the “On order” button in the discount window is the subtotal of the products eligible for a discount, not the total receipt amount. Therefore, if you divide the discount by the total receipt amount, the resulting percentage will be lower than the percentage you applied: the difference comes from the deposits and the tip, which remain unaffected.
If there are no lines on the order that can receive a discount, the POS will not open the discount window and will display the message: “The discount cannot be applied because none of the products on the order can be discounted.”
