Quantity Unity Goods

What should I enter in the MU (Measuring unit) field when I add a new stock or raw material?

Here you have 2 options depending on how you want to see your stocks. If you want to see your stocks in pieces than you most probably are selling your products as you buy them. For example trousers, a beer or a device which you sell without making any modification to it. In this case, at the MU you enter 1, cause you sell it 1:1.

If the stock is needed to make another product, you can follow the quantities after every sale, the losses through entering the total quantity of the stock ( MU- KG/L), for example 0.5 for a pack of coffee 0.5 Kg or 0.7 for a bottle of Rum 0.7 L.

Example:
a) Bottled beer/ canned beer, water, refreshments(all bottled/canned): For the drinks that you sell 1:1, piece by piece, you will enter "1" and at the measuring unit you will select PC and in the Product recipe you will also add 1 PC. This way, after every sale, 1 Pc from this stock will be deducted.

b)Bottled Vodka, Whiskey, Rum: For the drinks from which you only need a specific amount to produce a cocktail for example, you need to add the quantity of the bottle(MU L or KG) and in the product recipe you have to enter the quantity that is needed to produce the certain cocktail.

More precisely, the Jim beam 0.7 L stock will be registered in the following way:
Products/Raw material - M.U = L
Products/ - Unit Quantity = 0.7

For this stock you can create several products. If you sell a glass of jim beam 100 ml, you can create a product Jim Beam 0.1L. In this products recipe you will add the raw material Jim Beam and you will add 0.1 L at the quantity.. This way, after selling one product, from the initial stock you will have -0.1L.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I get the error "Value inconsistent with product name" when saving a product?
A: The error appears when the unit of measure (UOM) or quantity chosen does not match the indication in the product name. For example, if the product is called "Coca Cola 330ml" but you select UOM = 1L or quantity = 1000, the system detects the inconsistency.

How to fix it:

  1. Check the product name — any quantity mentioned in the name (e.g. "330ml", "0.5L", "250g") must be consistent with the UOM field.

  2. Adjust either the name or the UOM so that they match.

  3. Save.

Why the check exists: it prevents storage and calculation errors (incorrect quantities in recipes, incorrect values in Goods Receipt Notes, inaccurate fiscal reporting).
