Inventory by location: why stock differs from one location to another
In Ebriza, inventory is managed separately for each location (point of sale). The same product can have completely different quantities at two locations belonging to the same account — for example, 100 at one location and 0 at another — and both figures can be correct. There is no “company-wide” stock: there is the stock of each individual location.
What does this mean, concretely?
The quantity you see in Inventory is the quantity of the location you have selected, not the total quantity across the company.
A stock entry (a GRN generated from a supplier invoice) increases the stock only at the location specified on that invoice. The invoice location is automatically set to the location you are logged into when you add the invoice in Costs. If you want to enter invoices for another location, you need to log in to that location.
A stock reset, inventory count, consumption note, etc. is also recorded for a single location and only changes the quantity at that location.
Stock History (Inventory - History) shows the stock movements for the location selected in the location field at the top of the page.
Attention: the location is a filter, not something inferred from your account.
You can be logged into location A and look at the data for location B because the location can be changed using a selector — the location name displayed at the top after login and the location field on the Inventory pages. The selection remains as you last left it. That’s why, before drawing a conclusion (“the stock didn’t come in”, “someone reset my stock”), first check which location you have selected.
Questions and answers
Q: I created the GRN, but I don’t see the quantity in stock.
A: Follow these steps:
Open the invoice in Costs and check which location is listed.
Select the same location in Inventory and check the product quantity again.
If it still doesn’t appear, open Inventory - History, select the same location and period, and search for the product by name or SKU code to see its movements (stock entry, reset, inventory count, sale).
