How to mark course 1, course 2, and course 3
If you want dishes to come out one at a time instead of all at once — first the appetizer, then the main course, then dessert — the feature is called Serving Order. It is enabled once from the Administration account, after which the waiter can use it on the POS when marking products.
Serving Order is not related to product categories in the Product Catalog (which organize the menu), nor to tags and printing rules (which determine which printer the product is sent to).
Step 1 — Enable the feature in Administration
The button will not appear on the POS until the feature has been enabled from the Administration account. This is a company-level setting, so it only needs to be enabled once for the entire account, not for each location.
Go to Administration (the web application), then navigate to Account Settings → Company Settings.
Go to the POS section.
Check the Enable serving order option.
Save.
After saving, the tablets will automatically receive the setting. If a tablet was turned off or offline at that time, the button will appear once it comes back online.
Step 2 — Mark the courses on the POS
There are two ways to do this, and both work.
Option A — All products at once (the fastest)
Mark the products on the table as usual.
Tap the Serving Order button on the order.
In the window that opens, select #1, #2, or #3 for each dish. The application displays the message: “Define the serving order of the dishes by selecting #1, #2, or #3 for each of them.”
Tap Apply order.
Option B — One product at a time
Tap the product on the order to open its details.
In the Course field, select #1, #2, or #3.
Save.
You can change the order at any time by repeating the steps above.
What you see after marking the courses
On the POS order, products are grouped under Serving Order: 1, Serving Order: 2, and Serving Order: 3. Products that have not been assigned a course appear at the end under No serving order.
On the kitchen order receipt, a separator line and the label Group 1, Group 2, or Group 3 are printed between the groups. Products without a course do not receive a label.
On the Kitchen Display Screen (KDS), the order is grouped in the same way, by course.
This allows the kitchen staff to see on the same order what should be prepared first and what comes next. Serving Order changes the order and grouping on the kitchen order receipt; it does not send products to different printers or send them at different times.
Good to know
There are exactly three courses: #1, #2, and #3.
The feature is available only in the Ebriza POS NEXT application.
It does not apply to delivery orders (Bolt Food, Glovo, Wolt, and other platforms). The Serving Order button does not appear on these orders.
The course is assigned to the order when marking the product, not to the product in the Product Catalog. You cannot set all desserts in the catalog to automatically be course 3.
If you cannot see the Company Settings page, this is a permissions issue with your account, not a missing feature. Ask an account administrator to enable the setting.
Not what you were looking for?
If you only want the menu organized into sections (Appetizers, Main Course, Dessert) so that the waiter can find products more quickly, these are the product categories in the Product Catalog.
If you want drinks to be printed at the bar and food in the kitchen, these are product tags together with printing rules.
[tags: serving order, course 1, course 2, course 3, dish course, serving order of dishes, course, appetizer main course dessert, don't send everything at once, what to send to the kitchen first, courses served separately, group 1, enable serving order]
