If you want certain people to always have the same discount — loyal customers, employees, or a company in the office building — you don't need to apply the discount manually every time. Create a promotion linked to those customers, and in the POS the discount will be applied automatically when you select the customer.
You need the Marketing application for the promotion and the Customers application for the customer list. Without the Customers application, the loyalty option is not available.
Configuration:
Add the customers in the Customers application.
Go to Marketing → +.
Under Details, select the location, promotion type (for a discount on the entire receipt, choose Order Discount), and enter a Campaign name, e.g. “50% staff”.
Under Validity, leave Until date empty so that the discount remains active until you deactivate it.
Under Benefit, enter the discount percentage.
Under Loyalty, select Apply with customer loyalty and select the customers.
Customer loyalty — The selected customers appear in the table; + Select opens the customer list. For Order Discount, there is no Apply automatically option — this is why the customer-specific option is the one that behaves automatically.
Applying the discount in the POS:
POS NEXT: select the products, click the three dots in the bottom-right corner, and choose Add Customer/VAT ID. Search for the customer; the discount is applied automatically, and you only need to issue the receipt.
POS (old version): search for the customer under Loyalty/Promotions.
The purpose of customer loyalty is precisely this: you don't have to select the promotion manually anymore. If you have to choose it every time, the promotion is set to Apply manually, not Customer loyalty.
Common cases:
Staff discount. Add each employee as a customer and link them to the promotion. Their purchases remain recorded under their individual customer profile.
Partner company with purchase tracking. Add the company as a business customer and link the promotion to it; customer reports will show its purchases.
Fixed amount discount in RON, not a percentage. This cannot be configured as a promotion because the benefit is percentage-based. Apply it from the POS as a quick fixed-amount discount.
