Description
Two options — one temporary, from the POS, which expires automatically, and one permanent, from the product configuration. Which one to use depends on what you want to achieve.
You want a product — for example, a beer — to no longer be sold on delivery apps, but to remain available for sale at your location. You have two options, with different effects. Choose the one that matches what you want to achieve.
Which option is right for you?
If the product has run out for today or is unavailable for a few days, use Option 1: it is quick and is done from the POS, but it has an expiration period and the product becomes available again automatically.
If you want the product to no longer appear on the platforms until you decide otherwise — “to remain available only at the location” — use Option 2: the product disappears from the platform menu and does not come back automatically.
Option 1 — temporary: mark the product as unavailable from the POS
On Ebriza POS NEXT, press and hold the product in the product grid and select Mark as unavailable.
The same thing can also be done from Other - Goods Availability - Add - Product unavailable.
Then press Save, select the restaurants and delivery platforms for which the product is unavailable in the Restaurants affected by unavailability window, and choose the expiration period under Unavailable until: Tomorrow at opening, One week, One month, or No time limit.
Things to keep in mind before choosing this option
The first option in the list is Tomorrow at opening. After this period expires, the product becomes available again automatically, without anyone having to do anything, and you receive a message in the POS that the products are available again because the set period has expired. This is where the “it came back the next day” situation comes from.
The No time limit option is available only on recent versions of Ebriza POS NEXT. If you do not see it in the list, your application only offers periods that expire.
Marking a product as unavailable does not remove it from the platform menu. The product remains in the menu, marked as unavailable, and any employee can make it available again from any tablet.
Option 2 — permanent: remove the product from the brand's product configuration
The menu sent to Bolt Food, Wolt, or Glovo contains exactly what is included in the product configuration selected for the respective brand. Therefore, the product needs to be removed from that configuration and the menu needs to be synchronized.
Steps:
First, check which configuration the brand synchronizes from: Applications - the platform application - Brand Settings - Menu Sync. The configuration selected there, for your brand, is the one you need to modify. Read the warning below before proceeding.
Go to Nomenclature - Product Configuration and open that configuration.
Remove the product from the configuration structure.
Save.
Go back to Applications - the platform application - Brand Settings - Menu Sync and start the synchronization for each brand from which you want the product to disappear. A brand for which you have not run the synchronization keeps the old menu, so the product will continue to be sold there.
The product remains unchanged in Nomenclature and on the POS tablets, so it continues to be sold at the location.
On the platform, the product disappears completely from the menu and does not come back automatically. When you want it back, add it to the configuration again and run the menu synchronization once more.
Attention: do not remove the product from the configuration that serves the POS
If the delivery brand synchronizes from the default Nomenclature configuration or from exactly the same configuration displayed on the tablets at the location, removing the product from there will also remove it from the POS — exactly the opposite of what you want.
For delivery, use a separate configuration: from Nomenclature - Product Configuration, create a new configuration as a copy of the current one, remove the product from the copy, then select the copy in the brand synchronization window and only after that synchronize the menu.
Do not delete the product or category from the default Nomenclature configuration to remove it from delivery. Deleting a category from the default configuration deletes the category and the products within it from your account, and the action is irreversible. See the article “Product Configuration”.
Menu synchronization does not cancel item unavailability. If you run Sync. menu from Applications for the respective brand, products marked as unavailable in the POS remain unavailable on the platform: the platform clears availability settings when it receives the new menu, and Ebriza automatically marks the items as unavailable again immediately after synchronization, for the brand you synchronized. A brand for which you did not run the synchronization is not affected at all. Products set with Limited quantity that still have stock remain available for sale, as expected.
A product became available for sale again after a menu synchronization
Normally, this should no longer happen: after each synchronization, Ebriza marks unavailable products as unavailable again for the brand you synchronized. If you nevertheless find a product on the platform that should be unavailable, the synchronization completed successfully and you will not receive any error message – the menu was sent to the platform, but the re-marking of unavailable products failed. Check the following, one by one:
Are the delivery application settings saved? If you changed the brand's API key in the application form and clicked Sync. menu before saving, the menu is sent to the new location, but the re-marking does not reach anywhere. Go to Applications – the platform application – Brand Settings, save the settings, and then run Sync. menu again.
Have you made many availability changes in the last few minutes? Wolt accepts a maximum of 20 availability updates per 15 minutes for a location. If you exceed this limit, it temporarily rejects the updates. Wait a few minutes and run Sync. menu again.
In the meantime, take the product off sale from the tablet. If the product already shows as unavailable in the POS, first mark it Available and then Unavailable again, with that platform selected. This sends a new update to the platform. Then check in your store on the platform that the product is no longer on sale. If this happens repeatedly, contact us via chat or at support@ebriza.com and tell us the platform, the brand name and approximately when you ran the synchronization – we can check our logs to see what prevented the item from being marked as unavailable.
Gone from one platform, still on sale on another
You marked a product as unavailable from the POS. It can also be a product used as an option, for example a sauce or a side dish. It disappeared from one platform but is still on sale on another. In most cases the integration is working normally, and the explanation is how the POS sends unavailability:
The POS sends the update only to the platforms that changed. If the product was already unavailable for one platform from a few days ago and you now add a second platform, the update goes only to the newly added platform. The first platform received it on the day it was selected, and it is not sent to it again.
If the menu was sent to that platform again in the meantime, the product may have come back on sale there, even though it still shows as unavailable in the POS.
What you can do yourself, right away:
In the POS, press and hold the product in the product grid and select Mark as available.
Immediately mark it as unavailable again. Select every platform it should disappear from and choose the period.
Check in your store on that platform that the product is no longer on sale.
This sends a new update to every selected platform. If the product is still on sale on the platform after that, contact us via chat or at support@ebriza.com. Tell us the platform, the brand name, the product name and the time you marked it unavailable again.
What not to use for this?
Do not set the product to Inactive and do not delete it from Nomenclature. This removes it from everywhere, including sales at the location, and also affects your history.
Do not use the product's Availability field under Nomenclature - Products. This works at the location level, not at the platform level, and does not separate delivery from sales at the location.
Exception: GloriaFood
For GloriaFood, there is no menu synchronization from Ebriza, so Option 2 does not apply. In this case, remove the product directly from the menu in your GloriaFood account.
