If ordinary receipts print normally and only the long documents - the invoice or the daily report - come out broken, cut off halfway, with text spilling onto a second line or with the columns no longer aligned, the cause is almost always the non-fiscal printer's "Paper width" setting, not the network and not the printer itself.
Why this is not a network or paper problem
A printer that is unreachable on the network prints nothing at all, and one that has run out of paper or has its cover open stops on every document, not only on long ones. If short receipts come out correctly, the printer is receiving and printing documents - so the problem is in how the document is laid out on the paper, not in the connection to the printer.
Which printer the invoice and the daily report come out on
Both come out on the location's non-fiscal printer marked as Default, not on the cash register. The cash register prints the fiscal receipt; the invoice issued to the customer and the sales report go to the non-fiscal thermal printer. This is why there is no point checking the cash register, its battery or the printing rules - invoices and the daily report are not routed through printing rules.
The cause: the width is measured in characters per line, not in millimetres
The paper roll is 80 mm wide, so it looks correct to type 80 into the "Paper width" field. The field, however, asks for the number of characters that fit on one line, and 48 characters fit on 80 mm paper. With a value that is too large, every line the app composes is wider than the paper: the printer wraps it onto the next row, the amount columns stop lining up and the document comes out much longer than it should. On a short receipt nobody notices; on an invoice or on the daily report it looks exactly as if only part of the document had been printed.
The correct value
any ESC/POS thermal printer on 80 mm paper: 48 (the default value)
Epson M296A (also sold as TM-T70II): 42
the Zebra label printer: it has a field with the same name, but its value is in dots, not characters (default 350). Never enter 48 there.
How to fix it
In the Ebriza POS NEXT app on the tablet, open Devices.
At the top left choose Printers and peripherals and tap the non-fiscal printer the invoice and the report come out on (the one marked Default).
Change the value in the Paper width field to 48 (or 42, if the printer is an Epson M296A).
Save and reprint the document that came out broken. The invoice is reprinted from the POS menu, Receipts, the receipt, Print invoice.
This is a printer setting, so it applies to every document printed on it and to every tablet in the location - it does not have to be repeated on each device. There is no need to delete and re-add the printer: if you delete it, you have to configure its printing rules, tags and room again from scratch.
