How do I show the change due on cash payments in the POS? [Ebriza POS NEXT]

Tapping Cash can open a window where you enter the amount received from the customer and see the change calculated automatically. It is enabled with a single switch, on the tablet.

By default, tapping the Cash button settles the bill immediately for its full total, with no intermediate window. If you want the POS to ask for the amount received from the customer and work out the change for you, turn on the "Show cash back for cash payment" option.

You do not need any extra hardware for this. It is a single switch in the POS settings.

How to enable it

  1. On the tablet, in the POS, go to More (the three-line button in the bottom right) and then Settings.

  2. In the "POS General Settings" group, open the sub-page for the mode you work in:

    • "Counter service", for receipts issued at the counter;

    • "Table service", for table receipts (available only on Horeca locations).

  3. The mode itself must be enabled ("Enable counter mode" / "Enable table service mode"). While the mode is off, the switches below it are greyed out and cannot be tapped.

  4. In the options group of that sub-page, turn on the "Show cash back for cash payment" switch (subtitle: "Display information about payment change.").

The setting saves itself the moment you tap the switch — there is no save button on the sub-page.

  • This is a per-device setting: you enable it on each tablet separately, and it is not available in the administration account (Ebriza web). Do not look for it under Account Settings or Company Settings.

  • The two sub-pages are independent: turning it on under "Counter service" does not turn it on under "Table service". If you work both ways, enable it in both.

What you see on screen once it is on

Tapping the Cash button opens the "Cashback" window:

  • "Amount received from the customer" — fill it in by tapping one of the four suggested quick amounts (the first one is exactly the bill total, the other three are the next round amounts above it), or tap "Other amount" and type it on the numeric keypad.

  • "Amount to be refunded to the customer (cashback)" — shown underneath and calculated automatically, updating as you change the amount received.

  • Confirm with Ok and the bill is settled as usual. If you tap Cancel, the window closes and the bill is NOT settled.

Good to know

  • The window only appears when the whole bill is settled with Cash, in a single payment. It does not appear for a payment split across several methods (Payment by other methods), nor for "Cash without fiscal receipt".

  • The amount received is informational only, used to calculate the change. On the receipt and in reports the payment is always recorded at the bill total; neither the amount received nor the change is printed or stored, so you will not find them in reports afterwards.

  • If you used to see the change and it no longer appears on table receipts: the option is now separate for the counter and for tables. Your existing value stayed on "Counter service", while "Table service" starts off — just switch it on there once as well.

  • The Cashmatic cash machine is a completely different thing and is NOT required for this feature. Cashmatic is a physical machine that takes the money and dispenses the change itself; the option above simply shows you the change on screen so you can hand it over from the drawer.
