Installed Printer details and tags [Ebriza OLD POS]

Written by Andrei

To rename your printer or to add / change tags, you will need to go to Ebriza POS.

From there, at the Meniu and select: Printers and Devices.

A new window will open with all the printers that you have installed on your location.

Click on the Printer you want to rename.

From here you can rename your printer or add / change tags. Don't forget to Save.

If you have multiple tags, these ones will be separated by comma.

Edge Cases:

Payment notes and delivery receipts print ONLY on the default printer

Printing rules based on rooms and tags apply only to order receipts. For other receipt types, the behavior is as follows:

  • Payment note — prints exclusively on the printer set as default, regardless of the room the order comes from or the product tags.

  • Delivery order receipt (for delivery orders, attached to the bag) — prints exclusively on the printer set as default.

  • Return / order cancellation receipt — prints automatically on the printer configured for the related orders; this issuance cannot be disabled separately.

How do I change which printer issues the payment note?

  1. Go to POS Menu > Printers and Devices.

  2. Select the desired printer (e.g. the bar printer).

  3. Check the Default option to set it as the main printer.

  4. Save.

Important: The payment note cannot be printed simultaneously on multiple printers — only on the default printer.

Troubleshooting: order receipt doesn't print

Issues usually come from incorrectly configured tags or improper printer configuration. Follow the steps below:

1. Check product tags

  • Go to Catalog.

  • Make sure each product has the correct tag for its preparation area (e.g. kitchen), without diacritics, extra spaces, or spelling variations.

2. Check printer settings

  • Go to POS Settings > Printers and Devices.

  • Select the relevant printer.

  • In the Print Rules (tag1, tag2) field, enter the exact same tag used in the Catalog (e.g. kitchen).

  • Tags in the Catalog must be identical to those in the printer settings for routing to work correctly.

3. Button with mixed products (food + drinks)

When a product has the kitchen tag, it will be printed automatically on the non-fiscal printer configured with the same tag, even if it was added from a button that also contains drink products. Just verify tag consistency.

4. If there was a recent power outage

Printers may have changed their IP address after a power outage.

  • Go to POS Menu > Printers and Devices.

  • Delete the existing printers (long-press for 2 seconds on each).

Add them again using the "+" button, selecting the correct model.

5. If the tags match on both sides and the order slip still doesn't print

If you have checked that the tag is written identically on both the products and the printer, you have saved it, and the tablet is synchronized, but the order slip still doesn't print, the configuration is correct and there is no point checking it for a third time. There is one more standard troubleshooting step that can resolve situations where everything looks correct in the app, but the printer is no longer receiving order slips. Follow these steps in this order:

  • Physically restart the printer: turn it off using the power button and turn it back on.

  • Reconfigure the printer from scratch: in the POS app, go to Menu > Printers and peripherals, delete the printer (press and hold it for 2 seconds and select “Delete”), add it again using the “+” button, and set its tag again (exactly the same value used by the products, for example, kitchen). Deleting the printer also removes its settings, so setting the tag again after re-adding it is mandatory, not optional.

  • Test: open a table, select one of the products that has the tag configured, and send the order to preparation (see the next section).

If you have completed all three steps and the order slip still doesn't print, contact us and let us know that you have already reconfigured the printer — this helps us skip the checks you have already performed.

How to actually send the order slip to the printers

Tags determine WHERE the order slip goes; the action described below determines WHETHER it is sent. In Ebriza POS (the old app), the order slip is sent to the printers when you send the order TO PREPARATION — the button with the checkmark at the bottom of the order screen. Saving the order (“Send” / “Save”) only records the order; it does not send anything to the kitchen or the bar.

Therefore, when testing, the complete test is: open a table, select a product with a tag, and send the order to preparation. If you have not sent the order to preparation, the test does not prove that the printer or the tags are incorrect.
