Product cloning is mainly used for delivery, when we want to have a set of products with 5% VAT (serving on location) and a set of products with 9% VAT (sale with delivery). Since we cannot have 2 different VAT groups on the same product, we will have to clone them from the Configuration section.
RECOMMENDATION: In order not to confuse the employees who mark in POS, we can create 2 general categories (Delivery / Room) in which to add the other categories with the corresponding products.
CONFIGURATION EXAMPLE:
Go to the menu Configuration--> Product Display and press + Add Category.
2. We add the categories "Room", "Delivery" but also the category "Tea D", in order to start cloning the products.
3. From the Configuration- Products, search only for products in the "Tea" category, select them and click on Clone.
4. Since we need to make a small difference in products, we suggest putting a suffix D (from delivery) for the products we will clone and Save.
5. The Bulk Editing window will open automatically, where we will have to select the category “Tea D” as the destination of the new products and assign them the 9% VAT (the delivery one).
6. We continue to create new categories (from Product Display) and clone products.
7. After all the desired products / categories have been cloned, we access Product Display to move the product categories into the 2 major categories (Delivery and Room).
8. Click on the 3 points on the top right of the category, select "Move to", select the category "Delivery" and click on "Move here".
9. We do the same for all the categories we want to move to either "Delivery" or "Room".
10. If we look again at the list of products, we will see for example "Green tea" in the category "Tea" with VAT 5% and "Green tea D" in the category "Tea D" with VAT 9%.
