Each iOS device with the Ebriza POS Next application installed must have an assigned license. The license is automatically assigned the first time you log in on the device.
Depending on your subscription plan, you benefit from the following included POS licenses for each location created in Ebriza:
PRO subscription: 1 POS license.
PREMIUM and TITANIUM subscriptions: 2 POS licenses
Licenses are calculated at account level, not separately for each location. This means you can use them across any location available in your account.
Example: If you have two locations in Ebriza (for example, a warehouse and a sales location), you will have a total of 4 included POS licenses. This allows you to use the Ebriza POS application on 4 devices, regardless of the location where they are used.
To manage the licenses available in your account, access your Ebriza admin account and go to the left-side menu, then select the POS Devices section:
In the POS Device Licenses section, you will find the following:
Included licenses – here you can see the number of licenses included in your subscription. These are the licenses automatically provided once you activate one of the available subscription plans.
Additional licenses – here you can manually add or remove licenses according to your needs. After making the desired changes, don’t forget to save your settings.
In the POS Devices section, you can view all devices associated with your account, as well as the licenses assigned to each one.
From this section, you can also remove devices you no longer use. This allows you to free up a license and assign it to another device.
POS License Assignment on Devices
At the first login on a new device where you have installed the Ebriza POS Next application, a window will appear asking you to name the device. You can choose any name you want to help you easily identify it in the administration panel.
The window will look like this:
You can use the Ebriza POS Next application on a number of devices equal to the number of active licenses available in your administration account, where you can also switch devices between each other.
Example: If you have 2 licenses assigned to 2 devices (for example, an iPhone and an iPad), but you want to log in on another tablet, you can remove one of the existing devices and replace it with the new tablet.
If you need more devices active at the same time, you can purchase additional licenses from your administration account, following the steps explained earlier.
Important! An occupied license can be released in two ways: directly from the app on the device you want to remove from the account (fastest), or from the administration account (www.ebriza.com), for devices you no longer have access to. See the section below.
How to free up an occupied license (you have a new tablet and no free licenses)
If every license in your account is in use, the new device cannot register until you free one up. There are two ways to do it, and they are not equally fast. Ask yourself first: do you still have the app installed on the tablet you want to remove from the account?
Option 1 (recommended) - directly on the device you want to remove
If you still have the app on that tablet, you can remove it from the account right there, in a few seconds, without opening the administration account. The license is released automatically.
Ebriza POS NEXT: Other → Unregister device (and release license)
Ebriza POS (the old app): Settings → Unregister device
Ebriza KDS: Other → Unregister device (and release license)
Ebriza CDS (customer display): Settings → Unregister device (and release license)
The app asks you to confirm and tells you exactly what happens: “This action will delete device ... from the network of company ... and will release a license. The app will remain saved on the device and you will be able to reconnect with username and password if you wish.” So the app is NOT uninstalled, and the device can be reconnected at any time (using a license again).
Important: if the app warns you that you have bills (or orders) that are not synced with the server, do not continue with the deletion — data saved only locally will be lost. Check the tablet's internet connection first and try again in a few minutes.
Option 2 - from the administration account, for devices you no longer have access to
For a tablet that is lost, broken, sold, or from which the app has already been uninstalled, there is no button left to press. In that case, log in to the administration account (www.ebriza.com) and go to the POS Devices section in the left-hand menu.
In the POS Devices section you can see the registered devices and the licenses they use.
Next to the device you no longer use, click Delete device.
Confirm the message: “Release the license used by device '...'? If you continue, '...' will be automatically logged out and you will be able to associate the license with another device.”
You will get the confirmation “Device ... was deleted and the license freed.”, and a Free license will appear in the list.
The device is logged out automatically by the server, so this option works even if the tablet is switched off or lost.
Keep in mind: releasing an occupied license is free and instant. Buying additional licenses (the Additional licenses section above) is a different thing and is only needed if you want more devices active at the same time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I bought a new tablet and I get a notification that I have no free licenses. What should I do?
A: You need to free up a license held by a device you no longer use. If you still have the app on that device, the fastest way is to do it right there: Other → Unregister device (and release license) in Ebriza POS NEXT, or Settings → Unregister device in the old app — the license is released automatically. If you no longer have access to the device (lost, broken, or with the app uninstalled), delete it from the administration account, in POS Devices. After that, you can register the new tablet.
Q: I tried to install the Pro package and received the message: “You need to free up 1 license to install this package.” What should I do?
A: This message appears because your POS licenses are already occupied by older packages (for example, the old “POS Premium” or “POS Pro” from the previous model, which are different from the new Pro package). The Pro package includes 1 POS license, but yours is already in use.
To resolve this:
Go to POS Devices
Delete one of the devices that is currently using a license (select Delete device)
Return to the Marketplace and install the Pro package
