A complete redesign of the Ebriza POS app, rebuilt from the ground up for greater speed, stability, and a better user experience.
The new Ebriza POS (POS NEXT) keeps the way of working you're already used to, while bringing a modern design, faster workflows, and more control over your devices, orders, and deliveries. Below is an overview of the main improvements.
A fresh design, anchored in the way of working you already know
We've given the Ebriza POS a more modern look that works well in any working conditions and usage preferences.
A system that's easier for new employees to learn, with more shortcuts and quick actions to speed up the work of experienced staff.
All frequently used features are more easily accessible from the navigation bar (Floor, Receipts, Sales, Deliveries, Devices).
We've kept and improved gesture-based navigation (such as swipe) for a more fluid experience.
Optimized for easy use in different contexts, on both tablets and smartphones (including one-handed use).
Manage all your devices more easily
All your devices (printers, peripherals, POS devices, CDS, KDS) are managed from the Devices section — you can more easily see if something is disconnected or needs attention.
When installing POS NEXT, printing rules are automatically migrated from your existing POS, so you don't have to worry about it.
We've added new printing rules that you can configure additionally, for even more flexibility in using your printers.
You can register any new POS (or Customer Display / KDS) via a QR code or a PIN generated from another already-connected device — no more need for a username and password for each device.
More flexibility in aligning the POS to your workflow, not the other way around
Each user can configure the order ticket to be displayed on the right or left side of the product menu (left- or right-handed, the new POS helps everyone be more efficient).
You can configure how the product menu is displayed: comfortable view (larger items) or super-condensed (for menus with many items).
You can scan a voucher with a barcode reader for loyalty programs.
Quick actions on a product added to a receipt, to change anything on the fly (modifiers, notes, void, quick discount).
Increased speed at payment, with up to 3 configurable quick-payment buttons (not just 2) and many other payment options available from the context menu next to them.
You now have the option to issue a receipt with a partial payment.
You can add a quick discount on individual products, not just on the entire order.
The serving order can be marked more intuitively, if you need to bring products to the table one at a time.
Improved adaptability, visibility, and control
We've improved offline mode so employees can use the systems even when the internet connection is intermittent.
The notification system has been improved, without creating unnecessary noise. In-app, push, and audible notifications have been optimized to deliver critical information in a timely manner.
We've included new information on tables, such as whether the bill has been issued, for a faster assessment of the floor situation.
You can generate consumption receipts (bonuri de consum) directly from the POS.
You have more control over the permissions you grant employees and which actions require a manager's intervention / confirmation.
Products with modifiers, easier and faster to manage
Products with modifiers (serving options) can now be edited much more easily, as you can jump directly to the option of interest without going through the entire flow.
You have greater visibility of the selected options through the product configuration summary, reducing the risk of error when sending the order.
The ability to select the same modifier multiple times (extra shot, two toppings, etc.).
If you need to, you can now duplicate a product on a receipt — useful when you want an additional product with many modifiers on the same receipt.
Receipts and Sales sections, optimized for transparency and faster information lookup
We've improved the search and filtering system for receipts, to help you identify an issued receipt of interest more quickly.
You have the option to issue invoices directly from the POS (sent via email or printed) for any closed receipt.
We've included new information about a receipt (such as the duration of the visit) to give you data for optimizing your services.
The Sales section now structures information in a way that's easier to scan, so you can more quickly find what interests you in a sales report.
Unavailable products are kept under control
You can mark a product, product category, or even an ingredient as unavailable for a period of time much more easily.
You have the option to mark products with a limited quantity, to maximize sales within the limits of available stock.
You can selectively include certain unavailable products on delivery platforms or in-location.
Unavailable products (or those with limited quantity) are more visible in the product menu, and you're notified if they're added to an order, to flag possible errors.
The new Product Availability section gives you an overview of all unavailabilities, for better management.
A new experience for managing deliveries
Deliveries now have their own dedicated space in the POS, offering more flexibility and transparency in managing them.
The order list is easier to scan and includes dedicated sections for active, scheduled (future), and closed orders.
We've improved the search and filtering of orders.
Optimized flow for integration with aggregators (providers), as well as for phone orders or dispatch; you can also add orders manually, including scheduled (future) ones.
You can more easily redirect a new or accepted order to another location.
Improved customer history, as well as the addition (manually or via integrations) of customer ratings, to support your loyalty programs.
You can select card payment on delivery.
More efficiency for card payments
VIVA POS integration now also on iOS.
Cancel / void a card transaction directly from the POS, on all supported terminals.
Card terminals integrated into the delivery order flow as well.
Public documentation for partners and integrators.
How to switch to Ebriza POS Next and make sure you are using the new app
Ebriza POS NEXT is a separate app that you install from the App Store. It is not an update to the Ebriza POS app you have been using so far: both apps remain installed side by side on the tablet, with two different icons and names, until you manually delete the old one.
Step 1: Open the App Store on your tablet (iOS 16 or later is required) and install the app called Ebriza POS NEXT.
Step 2: Open the Ebriza POS NEXT app — check the name under the icon before opening it, so you don’t accidentally open the old Ebriza POS app out of habit, as it looks different.
The first time you open the app, the iPad will ask you for several permissions through “Allow Ebriza” pop-ups — accept all of them.
I often have receipts left in red, unconfirmed by the cash register. Will switching to POS NEXT solve this?
Usually, yes. Situations where the application does not receive print confirmation from the cash register, even though the receipt was printed on paper, are exactly the type of communication issues with the cash register that can be resolved by switching to Ebriza POS NEXT.
However, first check whether the issue is caused by a device or network problem — a low battery, the cash register appearing in red, or the tablet and cash register being on different networks — because these issues need to be resolved anyway, regardless of which application you use. The printing settings are transferred automatically when POS NEXT is installed.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does installing POS NEXT cost anything extra? No. Installing the new Ebriza POS (POS NEXT) involves no additional cost.
What do I need in order to install POS NEXT? You need a device running iOS 16 or a newer version.
Does POS NEXT work on Android? Currently, POS NEXT is not supported on Android devices.
What do I need to install POS NEXT? You need a device running iOS 16 or later.
Does POS NEXT work on Android? At the moment, POS NEXT is not available on Android devices.
Does installing POS NEXT replace the old Ebriza POS app? No. They are two different apps in the App Store and can be installed at the same time on the same tablet.
The old app remains on the device until you delete it. Because of this, you may accidentally open the old app out of habit, even though Ebriza POS NEXT is already installed.
How can I be sure which app I am using? Look at the name below the icon of the app currently open on the tablet: the new app is called Ebriza POS NEXT.
If you compare version numbers, keep in mind that the numbering was restarted with the new app: the new app has a version that starts with 1 (for example, 1.22), while the old iOS app has version 3, 4, or 5 (for example, 5.15).
Important: In this case, a higher version number means you are using the older app.
How do I update Ebriza POS NEXT to the latest version?
A: The update is done through the App Store, separately on each tablet. Open the App Store on the tablet, search for the Ebriza POS NEXT app, and if the Update button appears, tap it. We recommend enabling automatic app updates in the iPad settings, under the App Store section.
Keep in mind that all tablets at the location must be running the same, latest version. If the app is slow, freezes, or duplicate orders appear, check this first on ALL devices — see the article “The POS app is slow, freezes, or creates duplicate orders.”
I installed POS NEXT, but I left the old app on the tablet. What can happen?
You may end up working in the wrong installation without realizing it, because everything appears to be working normally: the devices and cash register show as “online” in the administration account, the peripherals are configured, and the receipts are printed on paper. The sign that tells you what is happening can be found in the reports: in Ebriza, sales and the Z report remain stuck at the date when that installation was last used, and Ebriza no longer counts any receipts, even though the cash register has printed them. The solution is to delete the old app from the tablet (after checking that there are no unsynchronized receipts) and work only in Ebriza POS NEXT.
I installed POS NEXT, but the app cannot find the cash register or printers. Why?
The most common reason, immediately after installation, is that the Local Network permission was denied the first time the app was opened. The classic sign is that the peripheral search bar instantly jumps to 100% and does not find anything.
Enable the permission from Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → turn on the switch for the Ebriza app, then return to the app and restart the peripheral search. If the Ebriza app does not appear in that list at all, the permission was never requested on that device — see the article “iOS Permissions Required by Ebriza Apps (POS, KDS, CDS)”.
