The order appears as “ready” or “delivered” on the delivery platform much earlier than it actually is (Wolt, Bolt Food, Glovo, Tazz)

Why the “ready” status is sent too early and what to check at the location

Written by Andreea Lazar

On the delivery platform, the order changes to “ready for pickup”, “out for delivery”, or even “delivered” a few seconds after it has been accepted, even though the food is not ready yet. The courier arrives too early, while the end customer sees the order as ready or delivered and calls back 10–15 minutes later asking why they have not received anything.

When does this apply?

This article applies if:

  • orders are coming into Ebriza normally and you are processing them normally;

  • on the platform, the order appears as ready, out for delivery, or delivered much earlier than it actually is;

  • the situation happens with many orders, not just one.

If, instead, the status on the platform is delayed — the order is completed on your side, but still appears as “preparing” there — see the article The order still appears as ‘preparing’ on the delivery platform, even though it is completed in Ebriza (Wolt, Bolt Food, Glovo, Tazz)”.

If the problem is that you do not notice orders when they come in, see the article How do I enable sound notifications for delivery orders?.

If orders are no longer coming in at all, see the article Delivery platform orders are no longer coming in (Wolt, Bolt Food, Glovo, Tazz)”.

Why does this happen?

What tells the delivery platform that the products are ready is the issuance of the fiscal receipt, not the passing of the set preparation time.

When you press “Issue fiscal receipt” on a delivery order, Ebriza sends the delivery platform the “ready for pickup” status. On Glovo and Tazz, the same moment triggers the order to be sent to the courier. For orders that the customer picks up themselves from the location, Wolt also receives the “delivered” status at the same second — which is why it may seem like orders are being marked as “instantly delivered.”

There is no automatic process that sends the “ready” status when the configured preparation time expires. The only trigger is the fiscal receipt.

This means that if the fiscal receipt is issued immediately after the order is accepted — a common practice to avoid forgetting to issue the receipt — the platform learns just a few seconds after acceptance that the food is ready. Nothing is broken: the workflow is doing exactly what it is instructed to do. Accepting the order by itself does not move the status forward.

What should you check?

Ask yourself, or ask the cashiers, one simple question: are fiscal receipts for these orders issued immediately after the order is accepted, or only after preparation is complete, when the food is actually ready to leave the location?

If the receipt is issued when the order is accepted, this is the explanation. As long as this workflow is used, the platform will always show the order as ready earlier than it actually is.

If the receipt is only issued at the end and the problem still occurs, contact us.

What should you do next?

Use “Send to preparation” immediately after accepting the order: the order is sent to the order printers or Kitchen Display Screen, while the “ready” status is not yet sent to the platform.

Press “Issue fiscal receipt” when the food is actually ready to be handed over. At that moment, the platform learns that the courier can be sent.

If you have automatic order acceptance enabled, check how the order is processed afterwards: automatic acceptance by itself does not send the “ready” status, but if the fiscal receipt is issued immediately afterwards, the effect is the same.

If the receipt is only issued at the end and orders still appear as ready or delivered too early, contact us. We can check which status Ebriza sent to the platform and at what time.

What should you send us when you contact us?

  • the platform and brand name;

  • the location, if you have multiple locations;

  • the order number from the platform and the date on which it was placed;

  • the approximate time when you accepted the order and the time when you issued the fiscal receipt;

  • the status you see on the platform.

Why do we also need the order date?

The order number alone is not enough. On delivery platforms, the order number is a counter that resets every day and is separate for each location, so the same number can appear multiple times on different days or at different locations. The date and location help us identify the exact order you are referring to.
