The Ebriza POS app now shows you a message on screen when your tablet's network address (IP address) changes. Until now the app noticed this change by itself but told you nothing: the first sign was that receipts stopped printing.
What the message looks like
The message appears on top of whatever screen you are working on, including the bill screen, and its title is "Your tablet's network address has changed". The text reads:
This tablet's address was (old address) and is now (new address) (Wi-Fi network: network name).
What this means: printers, the kitchen screen (KDS), the customer screen (CDS) and the other POS devices that talk to this tablet may no longer find it. Receipts may stop printing.
What to do:
Check in Settings › Wi-Fi that the tablet is on the venue's network.
Run a test print from Devices.
If you use a KDS or CDS, pair them again with this POS.
If receipts still do not print, call Ebriza support.
The old address, the new address and the Wi-Fi network name are filled in automatically with your tablet's real values. If the network name cannot be read, the message shows only the two addresses.
What to do, step by step
Check the network. On the tablet, go to Settings › Wi-Fi and look at the name of the network it is connected to now. It must be the network dedicated to the Ebriza equipment at the venue — not a guest network, not "…-guest", not a phone hotspot, and not the second network of the same router ("…-2G" versus "…-5G"). If it has moved to a different network, connect it back to the original one.
Run a test print. In the app, go to Devices and run a test print on the non-fiscal printer. If the receipt comes out, everything is fine and there is nothing else to do.
Pair the KDS and the CDS again, if you use them. They connect to this POS by QR code or PIN, and after the address change they may no longer find the tablet. Pair them again.
If receipts still do not print, call Ebriza support and tell them you got this message and what the two addresses shown were.
When the message appears and when it does not
The message appears only in the POS app. It never appears on the KDS or the CDS, because those apps have no printers and they connect to the POS, not the other way round.
The message appears once per address change. Messages never stack up on top of one another.
If the address changes while you are in the middle of a card payment on the terminal, or while the app is in the background, the message is postponed, not lost. You will see it as soon as you finish the payment or return to the app.
The message does NOT appear when the app starts or when you log in. It appears only when the address genuinely changes, from one real address to another.
Why the tablet's address changes
The router was restarted and handed out the addresses again.
The tablet switched by itself to another saved Wi-Fi network, for example when the signal got weaker.
On an iPad, "Private Wi-Fi Address" or "Limit IP Address Tracking" are turned on, which changes the address periodically. These must always be OFF — see the "Special cases: iPad and Private Wi-Fi" section of the article "How do I check if my printer and tablet are on the same network?".
If the printer or the cash register still does not work after this message, continue with the article "How do I check if my printer and tablet are on the same network?"
