What can I check / troubleshoot on the local network to avoid synchronization problems between devices

If you experience synchronizing issues between devices, problems issuing tax receipts, or communication problems between POS and cash registers, the cause may be an improperly configured local network.

What is very important to know is that the synchronization between the devices in the network (tablets, phones, cash registers, printers) is done strictly through the local network and not through the internet. In other words, even if the internet connection does not exist, the devices continue to synchronize with each other as long as they are all on the same network.

Below is an example of a properly configured network:

The following is an example of an incorrectly configured network:

Because the 192.168.0.9 tablet is on the 192.168.0.xxx network and the 192.168.1.10 printer has switched to the 192.168.1.xxx network, the two have no way to communicate. The same happens with the two tablets, which do not communicate with each other, but communicate with the Ebriza server. Because the two tablets do not communicate with each other, the data will not synchronize properly with each other.

For example, if a product is marked on the 192.168.0.9 tablet, it will not reach the 192.168.1.16 tablet but will only reach the Ebriza servers and discrepancies may occur from here.

To remedy these situations, we provide you with the following network configuration suggestions:

  • Connect equipment (cash register, non-fiscal printer) with LAN cable directly to the router, if possible, to avoid possible syncopes created by extenders / switches.

  • If extenders, switches, other routers are used, they must amplify the network created by the main router, not create another network (the range of IPs must be identical).

  • Setting the channel on the router. In the router settings there is an option called "channel". This is the channel through which wireless devices communicate. The default value is set to "Auto", which means it can be changed constantly. From the router settings, it must be changed from AUTO to any other fixed value (eg 3).

  • IP & MAC binding for devices. In order not to have problems changing IPs for tablets, cash registers, etc., we recommend setting a fixed IP for them directly from the router settings, not from the devices themselves.

  • The network created should be dedicated to the sales ecosystem (POS, cash registers, non-fiscal printers), to which customers do not have access, so as not to overload the network.

  • Packet loss check. Due to damaged cables, current fluctuations, etc. data packet loss may occur on the network, which means that information will not be sent correctly and completely between POS, cash registers, non-fiscal printers.
