CONNECTION:
Non-fiscal printers connect directly to the router using a network (LAN) cable. This is the only way they connect: a non-fiscal printer does not connect over Wi-Fi. The tablet connects over Wi-Fi to the same router — that is how the two end up on the same network.
To find out the printer's IP address, turn it off, press and hold the FEED button and, while holding it, turn it back on: a report is printed showing the address. If the report shows 192.168.192.168, this is the Epson factory-default address and it means the printer did not receive an address from the network — check the network cable to the router first. If the printer was found and added but appears in red (disconnected) or does not print anything:
First, check that the tablet is running the latest version of Ebriza POS NEXT from the App Store. An older version could report a printer as disconnected even though it was actually on the network and working, while a printer added by manually entering its IP address could remain without a serial number — in which case the printing rules would not reach it and it would not print anything, even though it appeared to be installed. After updating, open Devices → Printers and peripherals and allow the list to refresh; if the printer still does not receive receipts, delete it and add it again. INSTALLATION:
To install non-fiscal printers, follow the steps below:
From the bottom of the application, select Devices.
In the upper-left section, you will find Printers and peripherals.
2. Click on “Add peripheral” in the upper-right corner.
3. Select the model you want to install.
4. The application will search for the printer on the network using its IP address.
5. Once it is detected, click on the displayed result, which should be the IP address of the non-fiscal printer.
6. Set the printer details:
Name the printer so it is easy to recognize.
Select Default if you want it to be the main non-fiscal printer.
Select the product tags you want to send to this printer.
Select the room from which you want orders to be sent to this printer.
Managing non-fiscal printers from KDS
If you use the KDS app, you can add and manage non-fiscal printers directly from within it, without needing to go to the Devices section in POS. Open the menu in KDS, select Non-fiscal printers (the first option in the menu), and follow the same addition and configuration steps described above.
If the app does not find the printer during the search
Watch the loading bar while the app is searching. If it jumps directly to 100% and finds nothing, the app did not scan the local network at all: the iPad did not grant it Local Network permission. In recent app versions, if the permission was denied, the app shows the “Local Network Access” dialog and takes you to Settings, where you turn the switch on. If the bar increases gradually and the printer is still not found, this is a network or printer issue.
